The Purpose of the Englton Community Post:
The purpose of this site is to provide residents with a place to access Engleton Community Group information, announcements, and alerts. This site also enables residents to post their own community information, announcements, and alerts as well as interact with one another about things going on in the neighborhood of Engleton and the City of Harrisburg. Feel free to log in to post!
The Goal of the Engleton Community Group:
The goal of ECG is to provide and enable communication throughout the community. In various ways, ECG helps create connections amongst residents, local law enforcement, neighborhood businesses, and the city government.
Our extensive email chain alerts residents about crime, community events, City announcements & initiatives, and updates about what’s happening while “out and about in the neighborhood.”
The History of the Engleton Community Group:
This particular group evolved out of a long tradition of neighbors in Engleton working together to develop a systematic and inclusive way to communicate with as many residents as possible. Formed in 2008, ECG upholds the neighborhood’s history of community involvement.
Situated between N 2nd & N 3rd Streets, Reily & Kelker Streets, Engleton is named after Benjamin Engle, a local lumber dealer and real estate salesman. As Harrisburg grew, this neighborhood became one of the first developments in the city during the turn of the century. The unique structure of the houses in the community reflect Italianate and Queen Anne styles, with many having been well preserved by residents who call Engleton home.
More information about Engleton’s history can be found on the historical marker at the corner of Reily and Second Street and read by visiting…

I am new to the neighborhood and found out about ECG from Gallery Blu owner, Christina. She has been a “real neighbor” and has made me feel welcomed.
I am excited to learn more about what goes on in our neighborhood and glad to have ECG committed to providing much of that information.
Thank you
